Dear Friend,
On Thursday November 28 2008, families across the United States will unite to celebrate Thanksgiving.
This holiday is an opportunity for many of us to reflect on our past and remember the many blessings that
have helped shape and inform our lives.
Unfortunately, for some families the holiday season can be marked with pain rather than joy. These tough
economic times test our families on a daily basis, leaving little to no room in budgets for the holidays.
“One Family” is a local initiative established to feed the families of the Capital District this Thanksgiving.
As an alumnus of Christian Brothers Academy, I learned the values of Christian living and the personal
joys of public service and community activism. As a business owner and proud member of the Albany
community, I believe that there is no greater honor then the ability to give back to our
neighborhoods.
Our goal is to feed 100 families from the parishes of St. James Church (Delaware Avenue) and True
Witness Apostolic Faith Church. Each family will receive a turkey and all the traditional trimmings for their
Thanksgiving dinner. If you are interested in participating in this joint effort please contact me at avenuea.
